Cougars Fall to Undefeated Owls

Cougars Fall to Undefeated Owls

The Frederick Community College women's basketball team wrapped up a challenging two-game road trip this week, earning a gritty win over Cecil College on Wednesday and falling short against undefeated Prince George's Community College Owls on Friday, 88-48.

The game at Novak Field House started challenging for Frederick as Prince George's stormed to a commanding lead in the first quarter. Despite the deficit, the FCC Cougars showed resilience, led by sophomore forward Jasmine Hardy, who delivered a outstanding performance with 23 points and nine rebounds. Alaysia Jemmott also made her presence felt on the boards, pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds, while Bre Lawyer chipped in with eight points and four steals.

Frederick struggled offensively, shooting just under 30% from the field and going 0-for-7 from beyond the arc. The Owls' balanced attack and relentless defense forced 32 Cougar turnovers, making it difficult for Frederick to close the gap.

With the defeat, Frederick's record moves to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play. The Cougars now turn their attention to their upcoming road game against the Baltimore City Community College Panthers as they take the court at 3 PM on December 15.
