Frederick Community College Cougars men's basketball team earned a much-needed 76-68 win against Central Penn College Knights on Monday, as the Cougars rallied in the second half to overcome a five-point halftime deficit.
Despite a slow start, Frederick turned up the intensity in the final 20 minutes, outscoring Central Penn 39-26. Mike Davis led the charge with a double-double performance, scoring 18 points and grabbing ten rebounds while shooting an impressive 69% from the field. Aiden Igwebe was also pivotal, contributing 18 points and nine rebounds, while Kentavious Dancy added 14 points, including four three-pointers, to help seal the game.
The Cougars dominated the boards with a 47-30 rebounding advantage, fueled by Al-Ameen Sanni's game-high 13 rebounds. Defensively, Frederick held the Knights to just 36% shooting from the field in the second half, forcing key turnovers that shifted momentum in their favor.
With this crucial win, the Cougars improved their record to 4-6. The victory was a collective effort, as FCC heads into the holiday break with renewed energy, setting their sights on their next matchup against CCBC Dundalk on January 8 at 6 PM.
