FREDERICK, Maryland – A quick turnaround for the FCC women's soccer team as they returned to their home pitch on Friday afternoon to take on the Hawks from College of Southern Maryland. FCC wasted little time getting on the scoreboard thanks to a goal by Jasmine Lara in the sixth minute. The Cougars would tack on three more goals to take a 4-0 lead into the half. FCC would add three more goals in the final 45 minutes to take the 7-0 victory over CSM. With the win, FCC holds a record of 8-2-1 (3-1-1 MD JUCO) overall. The Hawks fall to 3-6 (1-5 MD JUCO) on the season.
FCC goalie Mahala Sawyers played the entire game and earned the win. She registered seven saves.
