FCC Names Gary Hull as New Head Coach of Men’s Soccer
Frederick Community College is excited to announce Gary Hull as the new Head Coach of the Men's Soccer program. A dedicated educator at FCC since 2002, Coach Hull has served as a full-time Professor of Mathematics and Liberal Arts, earning numerous accolades, including the Dr. Henry P. & M. Page Laughlin Distinguished Faculty Award (2017) and the Excellence Award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (2018).
Beyond the classroom, Coach Hull brings a lifelong passion for soccer and coaching. A former two-sport athlete, he played soccer through high school and one year at Shepherd University before shifting focus to work and coaching. He spent ten years developing young athletes through the Junior Golf Program at Black Rock Golf Course before returning to soccer when his children began playing at the youth travel level. His coaching experience spans competitive leagues such as NCSL, EDP, and ECNL, as well as Hagerstown High School summer leagues.
Rodney Bennett, FCC's Director of Athletics, expressed complete confidence in Coach Hull's leadership:
"Gary is the right fit for our program. We are very fortunate to have Coach Hull on campus as a faculty member and the right person to lead our men's soccer team."
When he's not teaching or coaching, Coach Hull showcases his musical talents, playing upright bass and mandolin in FCC's jazz ensemble. He resides in Sharpsburg, MD, with his wife, two children, one dog, and four cats.
FCC Athletics is thrilled to welcome Coach Hull to his new role and looks forward to an exciting season ahead
