Cougars Edge Mercer County in First Road Win
Frederick Community College men's basketball earned a gritty 71-66 road victory over Mercer County Community College on November 15, improving their season record to 2-2. The Cougars came out strong, building a 42-33 lead by halftime behind an efficient offensive performance. Thierry Patchou dominated the paint, posting a double-double with 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting and pulling down 11 rebounds. Kylan Johnson added 18 points and a team-high nine assists, orchestrating the offense with poise. Gabriel Jones provided a spark off the bench with 11 points and six rebounds, while Brayan Nganpe and Dayvon Dorsey chipped in key three-pointers to keep Mercer at bay.
Despite Frederick's hot start, Mercer battled back in the second half, but the Cougars' composure down the stretch and 61.9% shooting from the field proved decisive. Frederick also controlled the boards, outrebounding Mercer 34-35 and limiting second-chance opportunities. With the win, FCC heads into its next challenge on the road against Chesapeake College on November 19 at 7 PM, looking to build momentum and push above .500.
