Cougars Snap Losing Skid with Dominate Win Over Beaver County

FCC Cougars men's basketball delivered an emphatic 92-70 victory over Community College of Beaver County Titans on January 25, snapping a losing skid and improving their record to 5-10 overall and 1-7 in Region 20 divisional play. The Cougars put together a complete performance, shooting a blistering 61.8% from the field and outscoring the visitors by 18 points in the second half.

Aiden Igwebe led the charge with a dominant 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, showcasing his efficiency by hitting 8-of-12 shots. Kentavious Dancy contributed 16 points, including three three-pointers, while Randolph Johnson added nine. Frederick's depth also played a key role, with Kylan Johnson providing a spark off the bench, scoring nine points in just 13 minutes. The Cougars' ball movement was outstanding, and they dished out 24 assists as a team. Their defense held the Titans to just 41% shooting.

After a tight first half, the Cougars took a 38-34 lead into the break before they exploded in the second half with 54 points, pulling away for the win.

FCC looks to build on this momentum when they host another Region 20 DII opponent, the Westmoreland County Community College Wolfpack, on Sunday, January 26, at noon.
